CHIPS follow-up ceases when a young person transfers from paediatric to adult care.  However we are now beginning to enroll participants aged ≥16 into the UK Register of HIV Seroconverters, to ensure that we can continue to monitor their health into adulthood.  The UK Register works in the same way as CHIPS, with an annual follow-up form being sent out to the clinic where the patient is treated, and is also coordinated at the MRC Clinical Trials Unit.
